A Fun-Filled Approach to Protecting Young Lives

SRSP recently organized Child Wellness Day events in underprivileged areas of Lakki Marwat and Peshawar districts to boost immunization rates and safeguard children’s health. The primary goal was to reach out to children who had missed or never received vaccinations, ensuring they were protected against preventable diseases.

To create a positive and inviting atmosphere, the events featured engaging play areas and toys for children, making the vaccination process a joyful experience. The initiative brought together a diverse group of stakeholders, including children, caregivers, community leaders, religious figures, local activists, and representatives from UNICEF, RSPN, and the KP Health Department.

In addition to vaccinations, caregivers were educated about the prevalence of local diseases such as chikungunya and dengue fever. This awareness-raising component empowered parents to take proactive measures to protect their families.

These activities were part of the UNICEF Pakistan-funded project, “EPI Demand Generation through Community Engagement and HCD-Based Prototype Implementation.”
