SRSP Annual Report 2019-2020

The year 2019-20 has been immensely challenging for SRSP and its partner communities. With 100 million affected population and over 2 million deaths, the COVID 19 pandemic during the year brought social, economic and health disaster  worldwide. While the World is yet to recover from recurrent waves of this deadly pandemic, the death rate or population affected in Pakistan had been low in comparison to neighboring or developed countries. This seemingly low severity of,  especially, health crisis may well be attributed to limited access of population to testing and treatment facilities. Notwithstanding these low figures, an estimated 2/3rd population in Pakistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has been, in one or other  form, affected by this pandemic. The unavoidable complete or partial/smart lock down situation to stop the spread of virus had negatively affected the economy and business activities, which eventually resulted in massive unemployment especially for poorest community members (often employed as daily wagers).
